Always loved racing & Bikes right from a kid |

Finished 22nd in 2006 Castle Combe superbike Grand National on a Ducati 748R, smallest bike, and oldest rider in the race |
What is your average year’s budget for racing? |
I try not to think about this one, I would say about 10k a year, but don’t tell the wife! |
What are your Goals with racing? |
to go home with a smile on my face, and in one piece. |
Have you been injured when racing |
I broke my left collarbone, and 4 ribs, at Mallory in 2003, I broke my left wrist, and right second finger at Donnington in 2004, I broke my left big toe and chipped my ankle bone at Cadwell in 2007 |
What would it take for you to consider stopping |

What spec of bike would you recommend a Novice start with? |
Start with a near standard bike. Then when up grade things like, the suspension, you will have a benchmark to work from. |
Have makes of riding gear to you recommend? |
Get the best kit you can afford |
What other gear would you say a novice would need |
Van Or decent trailer, somewhere, to sleep for those weekend meetings (Van) When I started we did not use tyre warmers, You don’t have to have them, Ask Jim lea he never uses them. |
What are your words of wisdom for starting racing? |
You need an understanding Wife, and a good bank manager |
What do you wish you had been told when you were starting racing? |
I think the ACU training day is a good thing, when I started I never had a clue! |
